I didn’t learn from some expert mold maker and I sure couldn’t afford all those huge expensive books. When I finally did get around to putting out $40 for a fancy mold making book, it brushed across the subject as though everything you might mold, has no undercuts and is always easy to decide where to put your parting lines.
The deeper I got into the subject, the more difficult the projects folks were handing me. I had to learn how to make twists and turns almost impossible with plaster.
This is where my instructions differ. We dive right into a ‘not so easy’ project, with all sorts of undercuts to deal with. Not only that but not everybody has access to wood and saws and able to build mold boxes. If you’re like I was, when I first started out, with limited resources and space, then you’ll understand why I wrote these instructions the way I did.
